Connotation - idea or feeling which a word invokes for a person in addition to its literal or primary meaning

Denotation - the precise idea of something/the literal dictionary definition of a word

Stereotype - Widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person/thing

Archetype - typical example of a type of person/thing

Genre - style or category of art/music/writing/etc

Enigma - person/thing that's mysterious or hard to understand

Genre conventions - common characteristics/conventions in a genre

Sign - object, quality or event whose presence hints to a future thing

Anchorage - action securing something to a base/being secured

Iconography - visual images/symbols used in art or the study of these

(Non)diegetic - sound which characters can(not) hear in the setting
