The game was made out to not be your ‘typical Pokemon adventure’ through the colours and artwork compared to previous series entries, as Pokemon was trying to change itself up to appeal to more people. The trailer starts off with muted colours to represent the more serious tone compared to other series entries, but then introduces brighter colours later on to pick up the mood, it's only about a minute long; the TV trailer music starts off mysterious, then goes suddenly dramatic to make the gameplay footage stick out more. The colours used in the trailer also help to make it stick out to its different audiences - the darker colours for adults, and the brighter colours for children. There are different versions/dubs of the trailers to suit all around the world, the Japanese trailer is a lot longer and focuses on mostly gameplay and multiplayer features. It shows the gameplay in the TV trailer to show what the game would be like/draw people in. It even includes a special game event in the poster to make people want to buy it more, as they know the game may have region/event exclusive content.
